Mankato, MN – The Aussie Peppers of Minnesota are proud to announce they will be playing in a new home throughout the 2020 NPF season. With assistance from the Mankato Moondogs, a Northwoods league baseball organization, and the City of Mankato, the Aussie Peppers of Minnesota will call Franklin Rodgers Park, “The Frank” home in 2020.
The Aussie Peppers of Minnesota are a partnership between Softball Australia and the local youth fastpitch organization the Mankato Peppers. The Aussie Peppers are made up of mainly the Australian National Team, which qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan this past September with a few NCAA drafted players. The Aussie Peppers completed their second season in the NPF, the first under the name Aussie Peppers, in 2019 bringing professional softball based out of Minnesota for the first time ever.
The Aussie Peppers NPF schedule will begin in late May, with home games taking place at Franklin Rodgers in Mankato Minnesota with a special home series being held at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on the University of Minnesota Campus.
“We are excited to be able to bring Professional Softball to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area this season with games at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium,” Commented Assistant GM Alyssa Carver. “This is a great opportunity for our youth in the state of Minnesota to see professionals and future Olympians play in their own backyard.”
The Aussie Peppers of Minnesota will start their home games with a series held June 5th, 6th, and 7th at Franklin Rodgers Park. Then, staying true to their name, the Aussie Peppers are set to host a weekend event which will bring the Chicago Bandits to compete at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium in Minneapolis June 20th and 21st. This will be the first ever professional game held at the University of Minnesota’s Jane Sage Cowles Stadium.
The Aussie Peppers will then take the field at Franklin Rodgers for a four-day event The Peppers Pro Classic July 2ndthrough the 5th. This event will bring The Chicago Bandits, The California Commotion, and The Cleveland Comets to Mankato for Olympic level competition.
